The ladies

It seems to me that the women and girls in my life have had a bigger significance in my heart compared to men. When I look back, it's always them that have embraced me and did it more consistently. Men seemed to lack consistency. We are made to believe that women are catty and won't cooperate with each other but in my life I saw beauty in my friendships and a powerful bond with those women closest to me, especially my mother.

I've learned early on to not heavily rely or expect on men for full protection or acceptance. This bond that I have experience with the women in my life is a blessing; especially knowing this realization has come so early.
